Belize is a small country with a big itinerary, snorkelling and diving on the Belize Barrier Reef around Caye Caulker, jungle trekking to the Caracol Maya ruins and beach time along the Caribbean coast. NaTHNaC recommends Hepatitis A and Typhoid for almost all travellers, with Hepatitis B and Rabies for longer trips, rural travel or jungle stays.
Malaria risk is low and limited to some rural inland areas. The pharmacist will check your itinerary and advise on bite avoidance for jungle nights or prescription antimalarials if needed.

Standard for Belize. Combined Viatim (one injection) or separate vaccines covering food and water risks on the cayes and inland.
Hepatitis B plus Rabies (optional)
Recommended for jungle stays near Caracol, longer trips and any close animal contact. Three dose Hep B, two dose Rabies on days 0 and 7.

Travel vaccines for Belize at a glance

Hepatitis A plus Typhoid
Both are standard for Belize, where seafood, street food and rural water sources raise food and water risks. They can be given together as Viatim or separately. Hep A protects for around 12 months from a single dose; Typhoid protects for around 3 years.
Hepatitis B plus Rabies
Hepatitis B is recommended for longer stays, medical travel and any blood or sexual contact risk. Rabies is recommended for jungle trips, rural travel and anyone more than 24 hours from medical care.
