Israel is one of the most travelled destinations from North West London: the Old City of Jerusalem, the beaches and food scene of Tel Aviv, the Dead Sea, and family or religious travel for the Jewish community across Hampstead, Belsize Park, St Johns Wood and Golders Green. Healthcare in Israel is excellent, but the right vaccines still matter, particularly for Hepatitis A and B exposure, food and water borne risks outside major hotels, and longer family stays.
NaTHNaC recommends Hepatitis A and Typhoid for most travellers to Israel, with Hepatitis B for longer trips, anyone likely to need medical or dental care, and travellers with potential blood or bodily fluid exposure. Twinrix (combined Hep A and Hep B) is a convenient option for travellers who want both in one course.
Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a GPhC registered pharmacy (premises 1123406, owned by Naspram Pharma Limited) operating under Superintendent Pharmacist Sanjay Mukundkumar Patel (GPhC 2045157). We can usually fit you in same week and have particular experience with family travel schedules and Twinrix protocols for the Jewish community across North West London.

Travel vaccines for Israel at a glance
Israel is a low risk destination for tropical disease, but Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Typhoid remain standard NaTHNaC recommendations. Twinrix (combined Hep A and Hep B) is a popular convenient choice. Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a GPhC registered pharmacy and can vaccinate in a single appointment.
Hepatitis A for Israel
Hepatitis A is recommended for all travellers to Israel. Transmission is through contaminated food and water, particularly outside major hotels, at family homes, in markets, and in older parts of Jerusalem and the Old City. Single dose gives protection for around 12 months; a booster at 6 to 12 months extends protection to 25 years.
Hepatitis B
Hep B is recommended for longer trips, anyone likely to need medical or dental care, travellers planning tattoos or piercings, and anyone with potential bodily fluid exposure. It is also worth considering for family travellers who may end up in shared accommodation. Available as standalone three dose course, or combined with Hep A as Twinrix.
Twinrix, the combined option
Twinrix combines Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B into a single convenient course. Standard schedule is doses at 0, 1 and 6 months. An accelerated schedule (0, 7 and 21 days plus a 12 month booster) is available if you are short on time before travel. Useful for family bookings where you want one set of appointments.
Typhoid
Typhoid is recommended for travellers planning to eat outside major hotels, including at family homes, restaurants in the Old City, market food, and longer stays. Single injection protects for around 3 years.
Heat, Dead Sea and practical advice
The Dead Sea and Negev are extremely hot in summer (40C plus), and sun and dehydration are the most common preventable problems on Israel trips. We will give you a written briefing covering water intake, sunscreen, Dead Sea bathing safety (do not swim with cuts, do not get water in your eyes), and what to do in heat illness. Pharmacy contacts in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv included.
Family and community travel
Aqua serves a significant Jewish community across Hampstead, Belsize Park, St Johns Wood and Golders Green who travel frequently to Israel for family, business and religious reasons. We can handle family bookings together, support school age vaccination schedules around term dates, and offer Twinrix protocols that minimise the number of trips back to clinic.
