Cape Verde is the UK's favourite winter sun escape: the white sand beaches of Sal and Boa Vista, the volcanic hiking on Santiago and Fogo, and the music and creole culture of Mindelo. As an Atlantic island chain off West Africa, it has a much lighter vaccine profile than the mainland.
NaTHNaC recommends Hepatitis A and Typhoid for most travellers, and Hep B for longer stays, healthcare workers, or anyone who might need medical or dental care while there. Yellow Fever is not required unless you are arriving from a YF risk country (in which case a certificate is needed). Malaria risk is very low and limited to Santiago island in the rainy season.
