Is Hepatitis A really worth it for Italy?

For a one off short city break, you can reasonably skip it. For frequent travellers, families with kids, or anyone planning to eat widely in the south, it is a sensible single jab that covers you for around 25 years with the booster.

What about tick borne encephalitis in the Alps?

TBE risk in Italy is low and very focal, mainly in the Trentino and Friuli regions. We only suggest the vaccine for serious hikers or campers spending extended time in forested areas in summer.

How soon before my trip should I come in?

Even a few days before is fine for Italy, since you are mostly topping up routine vaccines. Two to four weeks is ideal if you also want Hepatitis A to take effect before departure.
