Venezuela is one of the more remote South American destinations from the UK, but for travellers heading to Angel Falls in Canaima National Park, the Gran Sabana tepuis, Los Roques diving, or Caracas for business, the travel health requirements are significant. Check FCDO advice carefully before booking, as travel guidance can change at short notice.
Yellow Fever is widely present in Venezuela. The vaccine is strongly recommended for almost all travellers, especially anyone going to Canaima, the Amazonas region, the Gran Sabana, or anywhere east or south of the Orinoco. A single dose gives lifelong protection. The vaccine is required for onward travel to many neighbouring countries.
NaTHNaC recommends Hepatitis A and Typhoid for most travellers, with Rabies for jungle travel, longer stays or anyone working with animals. Cholera (Dukoral) is worth considering for high risk rural travel or relief work. Malaria is present in much of the country below 1,700m, including Amazonas, Bolivar and Delta Amacuro, and a prescription antimalarial will usually be needed.
Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a NaTHNaC designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. The clinic is operated by Aqua Pharmacy (GPhC registered premises 1123406, owned by Naspram Pharma Limited) under Superintendent Pharmacist Sanjay Mukundkumar Patel (GPhC 2045157). We can vaccinate, prescribe and sign your ICVP in a single appointment.
