Guyana is one of South America's most adventurous destinations: colonial Georgetown, the thundering Kaieteur Falls, vast Amazon rainforest interior, and the Rupununi savannahs. It is also a country where Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory for entry for all travellers over 1 year of age, with the ICVP certificate checked on arrival.
Beyond Yellow Fever, NaTHNaC recommends Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Rabies for most Guyana itineraries. Malaria is a year round risk across most of the country outside coastal Georgetown, so a prescription antimalarial is essential for jungle and interior travel.
Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a NaTHNaC designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. The clinic is operated by Aqua Pharmacy (GPhC registered premises 1123406, owned by Naspram Pharma Limited) under Superintendent Pharmacist Sanjay Mukundkumar Patel (GPhC 2045157). We can usually fit you in same week, vaccinate, write your malaria prescription, and sign your Yellow Fever ICVP in a single appointment.

Travel vaccines for Guyana at a glance
Guyana requires Yellow Fever vaccination for entry for all travellers over 1 year old. NaTHNaC also recommends Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Rabies for most travellers, with malaria prophylaxis for almost all itineraries outside coastal Georgetown. Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a NaTHNaC designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre and can vaccinate and certify in a single appointment.
Yellow Fever for Guyana (mandatory)
Yellow Fever vaccination is required for entry to Guyana for all travellers aged 1 year and over. Your ICVP certificate must be presented on arrival. A single dose gives lifelong protection. Aqua will sign and stamp your ICVP certificate at the consultation.
Hepatitis A plus Typhoid
Both are standard for Guyana travel and can be given together as Viatim (one injection) or separately. Hep A protects for around 12 months from a single dose (25 years with a booster); Typhoid protects for around 3 years.
Rabies
Strongly recommended for jungle, interior and Rupununi travel, longer trips, and anyone more than 24 hours from medical care. Two doses on days 0 and 7. Bat exposure in the interior is a particular concern.
Malaria
Malaria is a year round risk across most of Guyana outside coastal Georgetown, including all interior, jungle and savannah regions. The pharmacist will prescribe the right antimalarial based on your itinerary and medical history, plus written advice on bite avoidance.
