Travelling to Brazil? Here is what you need.
Brazil is a Yellow Fever risk country, and NaTHNaC strongly recommends Yellow Fever vaccination for most travellers, including for Rio, Iguazu Falls, Salvador, Pantanal, and any Amazon trip. Several neighbouring countries (and many onward destinations) require an ICVP certificate on entry if you have been in Brazil, even on a short stopover.
Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Rabies are standard NaTHNaC recommendations. Malaria risk is highest in the Amazon basin (Amazonas, Acre, Rondônia, Roraima) and the pharmacist will prescribe an antimalarial if your trip includes those regions. Dengue is widespread, bite avoidance matters.
Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a NaTHNaC-designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. The clinic is operated by Aqua Pharmacy (GPhC-registered premises 1123406, owned by Naspram Pharma Limited) under Superintendent Pharmacist Sanjay Mukundkumar Patel (GPhC 2045157). Same-week appointments, ICVP signed in clinic.

Travel vaccines for Brazil - at a glance
Brazil is a Yellow Fever risk country. NaTHNaC strongly recommends Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Rabies for most travellers, plus malaria prophylaxis for Amazon-basin itineraries. Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a NaTHNaC-designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. We can vaccinate and certify in a single appointment.
Yellow Fever for Brazil
Brazil does not require YF for entry, but NaTHNaC and the CDC strongly recommend it for almost all travellers, and onward countries (Australia, India, China, South Africa, several South American neighbours) will refuse entry without an ICVP if you have been in Brazil in the previous six days. A single dose gives lifelong protection.
Hepatitis A + Typhoid
Both are standard for Brazil travel and can be given together as Viatim (one injection) or separately. Hep A protects for around 12 months from a single dose (25 years with a booster); Typhoid for around 3 years.
Rabies
Recommended for Amazon expeditions, rural travel, long stays and anyone planning animal contact. Bat-borne rabies is a recognised risk in parts of the Amazon basin. Two doses on days 0 and 7.
Malaria + dengue
Malaria risk is concentrated in the Amazon basin (Amazonas, Acre, Rondônia, Roraima). Rio, São Paulo, Salvador, the Northeast coast and Iguazu Falls have no significant malaria risk. The pharmacist will prescribe an antimalarial for Amazon-basin itineraries. Dengue is present across Brazil including the major cities. Bite avoidance (DEET, long sleeves at dawn/dusk) is essential.
