Travelling to Kenya? Here is what you need.
Kenya is one of the UK's most popular long-haul destinations: safari in the Maasai Mara, Mombasa and Diani beaches, Mount Kenya treks, and Nairobi for business. It is also a country where the right vaccines are non-negotiable: Yellow Fever is required for entry if you are arriving from a YF risk country (and recommended for everyone going on safari), and Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Rabies are standard recommendations from NaTHNaC.
Malaria is a year-round risk in most of Kenya below 2,500m, so you will also need a prescription-only antimalarial. The pharmacist will look at your itinerary and recommend the right one (atovaquone/proguanil, doxycycline, or mefloquine).
Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a NaTHNaC-designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. The clinic is operated by Aqua Pharmacy (GPhC-registered premises 1123406, owned by Naspram Pharma Limited) under Superintendent Pharmacist Sanjay Mukundkumar Patel (GPhC 2045157). We can usually fit you in same-week, vaccinate, write your malaria prescription, and sign your Yellow Fever ICVP in a single appointment.

Travel vaccines for Kenya - at a glance
Kenya is a Yellow Fever risk country. NaTHNaC recommends Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A, Typhoid and Rabies for most travellers, with malaria prophylaxis for almost all itineraries below 2,500m. Aqua Travel Clinic in West Hampstead is a NaTHNaC-designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre and can vaccinate and certify in a single appointment.
Yellow Fever for Kenya
Kenya itself is a Yellow Fever risk country in most areas. The vaccine is required for entry if you are arriving from another YF risk country, and strongly recommended for safari travel. A single dose gives lifelong protection. Aqua will sign and stamp your ICVP certificate at the consultation.
Hepatitis A + Typhoid
Both are standard for Kenya travel and can be given together as Viatim (one injection) or separately. Hep A protects for around 12 months from a single dose (25 years with a booster); Typhoid protects for around 3 years.
Rabies
Recommended for safari, longer trips, rural travel and anyone more than 24 hours from medical care. Two doses on days 0 and 7. Highly recommended for children.
Malaria
Malaria is a year-round risk in most of Kenya below 2,500m, including coastal Mombasa, Diani and the Maasai Mara. The pharmacist will prescribe the right antimalarial based on your itinerary and medical history (atovaquone/proguanil, doxycycline, or mefloquine), plus written advice on bite avoidance.
