Lebanon remains a popular trip for the large Lebanese community in northwest London and for travellers drawn to Beirut nightlife, the Roman ruins at Baalbek, the Phoenician port of Byblos, ski runs in the Mount Lebanon range and the wineries of the Beqaa Valley. NaTHNaC recommends Hepatitis A and Typhoid for all travellers, and Hepatitis B for longer stays, expat or volunteer work, healthcare contact, or anyone with a reasonable chance of needing medical or dental treatment.
Rabies is worth considering for rural travel, long stays and anyone planning to spend time in the Beqaa Valley or mountain villages. There is no malaria risk anywhere in Lebanon. Yellow Fever is required only if you are arriving from a Yellow Fever risk country, which is rare on UK to Beirut routings.
FCDO advice for Lebanon changes regularly, particularly in border regions and parts of the south. We will not advise on the geopolitical side of your trip, but we will make sure your vaccines, malaria assessment and travel health checklist are right for your specific itinerary.
