London's travel-clinic options, and why we built ours differently.
Kilburn - NW6 - has one of London's most distinctive travel-medicine catchments. Three communities dominate. The historical Irish community, now smaller but still significant around Kilburn High Road, travels home to Ireland frequently. The large Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Indian communities travel for VFR (visiting friends and relatives) to Karachi, Lahore, Sylhet, Dhaka, Mumbai and Delhi. And the substantial Muslim community travels to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage every year, with Saudi requiring MenACWY for every pilgrim aged 2+.
Aqua Travel Clinic sits one Jubilee Line stop from Kilburn at West Hampstead - a 4-minute train journey, plus a 1-minute walk from the station. We're independent (Aqua Pharmacy, GPhC premises 1123406, owned by Naspram Pharma Limited), pharmacist-led (Superintendent Pharmacist Sanjay Mukundkumar Patel, GPhC 2045157), NaTHNaC-designated for Yellow Fever, and equipped to issue same-day MenACWY certificates for Hajj travellers who've left it late.

Kilburn's travel-vaccine demand
Kilburn, postcode NW6, on the Brent/Camden border, has approximately 35,000 residents across a corridor running from Kilburn Park up to Kilburn High Road and along to Brondesbury. The demographic mix is one of the most diverse in London: a long-established Irish community, large Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities, a significant Caribbean community, a growing Polish community, and the spillover of young professional households from Hampstead and Maida Vale.
The travel-vaccine catchment reflects this. The three biggest categories at Aqua's Kilburn appointments are:
1. Hajj and Umrah
Saudi Arabia requires Meningitis ACWY for every pilgrim aged 2 years or older. The certificate must be dated between 10 days and 3 years before arrival in Saudi Arabia, so bookings made fewer than 10 days before departure are problematic, but we keep emergency slots for last-minute travellers. Many Hajj pilgrims from Kilburn also need a Polio booster if travelling from a country flagged as polio-affected. A typical Hajj appointment costs less than people expect; see our booking page for current rates.
2. South Asian VFR
VFR (visiting friends and relatives) travel to Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka is the largest single category by volume at Aqua's Kilburn appointments. NaTHNaC's standard recommendation is Hep A + Typhoid + Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio booster, with Rabies pre-exposure for anyone staying outside city centres for more than a few weeks. Hep B is recommended for longer stays or anyone likely to need medical or dental care while travelling. See our India page for India-specific recommendations.
3. Holiday and leisure travel
The remaining bookings are conventional holiday travel: Thailand, Vietnam, Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil, Peru, across the full demographic spectrum. Yellow Fever is needed for the African and South American destinations and we sign the ICVP in-clinic.
Why come to Aqua from Kilburn
Aqua is closer than any other NaTHNaC-designated Yellow Fever centre. It's one Jubilee Line stop from Kilburn Park or Kilburn (4 minutes), or a 10-minute bus on the 31 or 328 along Kilburn High Road. We're a 1-minute walk from West Hampstead station.
We're also priced fairly. Travel consultations are free. You pay for the vaccines actually administered, at rates similar to the big high-street chains and below several specialist private clinics. Importantly, we don't upsell. If you don't need a vaccine, we'll tell you, and the consultation costs you nothing.
And we're consistent. Sanjay is the named Superintendent Pharmacist at every consultation we run. The advice you got at your last appointment is the advice you'll get at your next one. We follow NaTHNaC and UKHSA Green Book guidance to the letter. We're happy to show you the source for any recommendation.
