Built for north London's travellers.
London is one of the most-travelled cities in the world. Around 80 million international passengers pass through Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City every year, and London residents account for a disproportionate share. Hajj pilgrims from Kilburn and Wembley, VFR travellers heading to Karachi, Lagos, Lahore, Mumbai and Dhaka, gap-year backpackers from north London, families on safari in Kenya, business trips to São Paulo and Mexico City.
The problem is capacity. NHS travel clinics typically need 3 to 6 weeks lead-time and often require a GP referral before private vaccination. The big chain travel clinics sell volume, sometimes upselling vaccines you don't actually need.
Aqua Travel Clinic is the alternative we wanted to exist. We're an independent pharmacist-led clinic at Aqua Pharmacy (GPhC premises 1123406, owned by Naspram Pharma Limited) in West Hampstead, run by Superintendent Pharmacist Sanjay Mukundkumar Patel (GPhC 2045157). We're NaTHNaC-designated for Yellow Fever, same-week appointments are the norm, and we never sell you a vaccine you don't need.

Travel-vaccine choices for Londoners in 2026
If you live in London and need travel vaccines, you have three real options: NHS GP travel clinic, big high-street pharmacy chain, or an independent travel clinic like Aqua. Each has trade-offs.
NHS GP travel clinic. Some NHS practices offer NHS-funded travel vaccines (Hep A, Typhoid, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Polio, Cholera) but most refer you to a private clinic for Yellow Fever, Rabies, Hep B, Japanese Encephalitis and Meningitis ACWY. Travel consultations themselves are often privately charged. Lead times in London average 3 to 6 weeks. Yellow Fever requires a NaTHNaC-designated centre, and not every NHS practice qualifies.
High-street pharmacy chains. Faster than NHS, but typically rotating pharmacist staff, less continuity, and a reputation among travellers for upselling. The clinical content is fine; the experience is transactional.
Independent travel clinic. Same-week appointments, the same pharmacist on every visit, NaTHNaC-aligned protocols, and prices in the same band as the chains. The catch is finding one. There are only a handful in London. Aqua Travel Clinic is one.
What's where in London: the travel-vaccine catchment
Aqua is in West Hampstead, NW6. By Jubilee Line we're 12 minutes from Bond Street, 18 minutes from Westminster, 8 minutes from St John's Wood. By Thameslink we're 14 minutes from King's Cross/St Pancras and 22 minutes from Farringdon. The Overground links us directly to Highbury & Islington, Stratford, Shoreditch, Clapham Junction and Richmond.
That puts us within a 30-minute door-to-door commute for most of inner London. For NW6/NW3/NW2/NW8 postcodes we're often the closest NaTHNaC-designated Yellow Fever centre. For central and west London we're competitive with Marylebone clinics on price and availability. For east London the journey is longer but still under an hour for most postcodes.
London's commonest travel-vaccine itineraries
Aqua sees roughly 50 travellers a week. The most common destinations are not the ones travel brochures advertise. They reflect London's communities and the city's role as a transit hub.
VFR travel: visiting friends and relatives
VFR is by far the biggest single category in London travel medicine. Hep A + Typhoid + Tetanus booster for trips to Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Ghana, Sri Lanka. India is the single most common destination. Rabies pre-exposure is strongly recommended for longer or rural VFR trips.
Hajj and Umrah
Saudi Arabia requires MenACWY for every pilgrim aged 2+ years. Aqua sees Hajj travellers from Kilburn, Brondesbury, Wembley, Cricklewood and Hendon, sometimes at very short notice. MenACWY can be administered same-day with a certificate issued on the spot.
Safari and East Africa
Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and South Africa. Kenya requires the Yellow Fever ICVP for entry if you've come from a YF risk country. Aqua is a designated YF centre. We sign and stamp the certificate at the consultation.
South America
Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina. Yellow Fever is strongly recommended for Amazon and most of Brazil. Hep A and Typhoid are standard. See our Brazil page.
South-East Asia
Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines. Hep A, Typhoid, Rabies (for longer or rural travel), Japanese Encephalitis (rural monsoon season). Backpacker volume is high from Camden and Hampstead.
The NaTHNaC and Green Book framework
UK travel-vaccine practice is governed by NaTHNaC (National Travel Health Network and Centre) for country-specific recommendations and the UKHSA Green Book for clinical protocols. Aqua's vaccine recommendations align with both. We do not invent risk; we follow the published guidance and document it. If you've been told something contradictory by another clinic, ask for the source. It should be NaTHNaC TravelHealthPro or the Green Book.
Getting to West Hampstead from across London
By Jubilee Line: from anywhere between Stanmore and Stratford, we're a direct service. From Bond Street it's 12 minutes; from Canary Wharf 22 minutes; from London Bridge 18 minutes.
By Thameslink: direct from Luton, St Pancras, Farringdon, City, London Bridge, Blackfriars, East Croydon, Gatwick and Brighton.
By Overground: direct from Stratford, Hackney, Highbury & Islington, Camden Road, Gospel Oak, Brondesbury, Willesden Junction, Acton Central and Richmond.
By car: the A41 brings you in from north-west London (Hendon, Brent Cross). The A40 brings you from west London (Notting Hill, Acton). The North Circular is 10 minutes away. There's free side-road parking moments from the clinic.
Same-week appointments: what that actually means
Aqua keeps 25 to 30 percent of weekly slots open for last-minute travellers. The average lead time across all bookings is under 4 days. If you're flying within 7 days you'll almost always be able to get an appointment. Call us if you can't see the slot you need online.
Pricing
See our booking page for current vaccine prices. We charge for each vaccine actually administered; consultations are included. We don't bundle vaccines you don't need.
